Delay in sea transport — what can be done?
In sea transport, sailings are sometimes shifted by 1–2 weeks.
Unfortunately there is little we can do — carriers decide when a vessel sails. Ships carry tens of thousands of containers, so a single complaint about delay will not change much.
Ask your logistics partner which carriers most often arrive on time. A slightly more expensive option with another carrier may save time.
Delay insurance is generally not available on the market. In an industry where delays are common, such cover is hard to underwrite.
