Requirements for importing lighting from China into Poland Importing lighting from China into Poland

It is essential to comply with European regulations on the introduction of products from outside the European Union into the European market. Ensuring consumer safety and environmental protection requires that imported lighting meets certain standards and requirements.
In order to introduce lighting into the Polish market, it is necessary to prepare an EC Declaration of Conformity and to affix the CE marking on the products. The EC declaration is a document confirming the compliance of the product with the New Approach Directives. The CE marking indicates that the lighting in question meets safety and quality requirements.
Once the product has been tested, a detailed test report, known as a 'test report', is created. This document allows the CE certificate of conformity to be obtained from the certification body. Having both of these documents enables the manufacturer to finalise the process by issuing a declaration of conformity and marking the products with the CE symbol.
Specific directives such as LVD (Low Voltage Directive), EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive) and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive) also apply to electric lighting. The LVD specifies the requirements for equipment operating within the voltage range of 50 to 1000 volts AC or 75 to 1500 volts DC. The EMC Directive regulates the immunity of equipment to electromagnetic fields and their ability to emit interference. The RoHS Directive sets out rules on the content of harmful substances in electrical equipment.
Duty rates on imported goods can be a volatile issue, so traders should check the applicable customs regulations carefully to avoid unpleasant surprises. It is also a good idea to monitor regulatory changes and adapt to them to minimise the risks associated with importing lighting from China.
